Welcome back to The Coverage, FurtherAI's monthly recap of what we've shipped for insurance teams. In October, we listed FurtherAI on the Guidewire Marketplace, brought the Assistant to Slack and Microsoft Teams, shipped voice agents, and launched Inbox Agent. We also introduced Skills for insurance context, added open-weight models, and let Web Agent and Computer Agent steps ask a person for help. Plus, a batch of smaller upgrades made the Assistant and workflows easier to use. Here's the full rundown.

Major updates

FurtherAI on the Guidewire Marketplace

Guidewire customers can now find FurtherAI in the Marketplace and connect it to PolicyCenter:

  • File submissions without retyping. A broker's email comes in, FurtherAI extracts it, finds or creates the account in PolicyCenter, and submits it.
  • Keep status current. Quote status and premium update on the run automatically.

Inbox Agent

Inbox Agent handles the first step of underwriting before anyone opens the email, so underwriters start from submissions that are already read, classified, and cleared:

  • Read everything that comes in. It reads each message and attachment, scanned or native, classifies the documents, and extracts the fields that matter.
  • Check appetite in plain language. Your appetite rules are written as a Skill, so Inbox Agent applies the guidelines your team actually underwrites to. Out-of-appetite flags come with the reason.
  • Keep threads straight. Replies update the submission already in progress, and new emails open as new submissions, so nothing is duplicated or missed.

‍

Skills

Skills give the Agent insurance context before it starts working:

  • Right context from the first question. The Agent picks the Skills that fit and answers with its reasoning and source.
  • Public data, already wired in. Skills draw on datasets insurance teams use every day, such as Census Bureau data.
  • Add your own guidelines. Write them in plain language and the Agent applies them.

Open-weight models

FurtherAI now supports open-weight models, starting with Z.ai's GLM 5.3:

  • Use it where it fits. Pick GLM 5.3 in the Assistant or for extraction in workflows.
  • Pick the model that fits the job. Not every task needs the priciest model, and open-weight gives you another way to manage cost on high-volume work.
  • See our testing notes. We wrote up what we learned in an engineering blog.

Assistant in Slack and Microsoft Teams

Organizations can now connect FurtherAI to Slack and Microsoft Teams and use the Assistant where their teams already work:

  • Chat with the Assistant directly in Slack or Teams.
  • Keep one conversation. Chats sync both ways, so messages in Slack or Teams appear in FurtherAI, and the reverse. Multiple people can collaborate in the same thread.
  • Start workflows by asking. Tell the Assistant what to run without leaving the thread.

Voice agents

Voice agents let a phone call start a workflow:

  • Start a workflow from an inbound call. Add a Phone call trigger, write the script the agent follows, and publish. FurtherAI sets up a number for the workflow.
  • Follow along live. A run opens as soon as the phone rings and shows the transcript as the call happens. The recording and transcript stay attached to the run.
  • Make outbound calls. A workflow step can place a call to someone outside your organization, like a renewal reminder.

Human-in-the-loop for Web Agent and Computer Agent steps

In the Builder Agent, Web Agent and Computer Agent steps can now stop and ask a person when they need to. A missing detail no longer means a failed run or a guess:

  • The agent decides when to ask. It stops for a value it can't find, two plausible options, or an approval before it saves or submits something.
  • Questions show up on the run page. Each one comes with a screenshot of the agent's screen, and you pick an option or type an answer.
  • It picks up exactly where it stopped. The browser or Cloud PC stays open while the agent waits, and the step's recording covers the whole run.

Platform updates

New Assistant chat experience

Chats now work like shared workspaces: invite teammates or share a conversation with your whole organization, then search, rename, and archive from the new All Chats page. It's live in every organization, and replies come back faster.

Global search

Search workflows, runs, chats, and files in one place with Cmd+K, so finding what you need doesn't mean clicking through each section. It's on for every organization.

Tasks

Mentions is now Tasks, one place for runs assigned to you, moments an agent needs a person, and your own to-dos. Agents can assign tasks, so can your teammates, and you get notified by email or Slack when one lands on you.

Reply by email to resume a run

When a run pauses for missing information, a reply by email picks it back up, so no one has to chase the answer.

Form filling

The Assistant fills PDF and Word forms, ACORDs included, from your documents and chat context. Applications that used to mean retyping now take one request.
