The Broker Workspace in FurtherAI is one place for a brokerage to take an account to market, from the account data already on file to the proposal the client sees. It fills in the ACORD and supplemental applications, lays carrier quotes side by side with the differences flagged, turns the chosen quote into a proposal in the firm's own branding, and matches later certificate requests to the certificate on file. A broker reviews and approves every step that needs judgment.

In our latest On the Desk video, Product Lead Danny O'Lenic follows one account through the Broker Workspace from submission to certificate, using a renewal as the example. This post walks through what he shows, and why we think the way the work is organized matters as much as any single feature.

Where the real work sits when quotes come back

When renewal quotes come back, the premium is the easiest number to compare. The questions that matter are where the sublimits and exclusions diverge between carriers, and, as Danny puts it, “Is one carrier’s wording on additional insureds actually going to hold up the way the client expects?”

Those answers are usually spread across a stack of carrier PDFs. Someone on the account team reads them line by line before the client meeting, after already spending time keying the same account details into applications for each market. The Broker Workspace is built to take the re-entry off the team's plate and get them to the comparison faster, so their time goes to the judgment call.

One renewal, from submission to certificate

Danny’s walkthrough follows one account through four stages.

1. ACORD and supplemental applications, filled from data on file

FurtherAI fills in the ACORD forms and supplemental applications from the account information already on file. Nobody starts from scratch, and the completed applications are what go out to carriers to get the account quoted.

2. Quotes side by side, with the differences flagged

As quotes come back, FurtherAI lays them side by side and flags the differences that matter, including where sublimits and exclusions diverge. The broker starts from a clear view of where the options differ and decides which ones matter for this client. That’s where a broker’s experience earns its keep, and it’s the step the workspace is designed to protect. Read more about how FurtherAI supports brokers.

3. A branded proposal in one click, then a bound policy

Once the broker picks a quote, one click turns it into a proposal in the firm’s own branding, and a second sends it to the client. Once the policy is bound, the client has an issued policy with no lapse in coverage. Our broker page puts proposal preparation at about 10 minutes, down from two to three hours by hand.

4. Certificate requests matched to the one on file

A few weeks later, one of the client’s vendors asks for a certificate of insurance, and FurtherAI matches the request to the certificate on file for that account. Someone on the team reviews and approves it before it goes out, so a person still signs off on what leaves the building.

Why we call it a workspace

Aman Gour, FurtherAI's co-founder and CEO, sees the Broker Workspace as an example of a broader change in how insurance software gets built:

"The last generation of software was built for humans to do the work. Now, AI-native software is built for AI to run the workflow, and for humans to step in where judgement is needed." — Aman Gour, Co-founder and CEO at FurtherAI

His point is that almost everyone has used AI or tried an agent by now, but a single task is rarely the whole job. As Aman puts it, "real work in insurance is never one task. It's a chain of steps across people and systems, and a workbench was never designed to carry that."

Taking an account to market is that kind of chain: applications go out, quotes come back, a comparison becomes a recommendation and then a proposal, and a certificate request can arrive weeks later. In a workspace, the account carries its data from step to step, and the broker reviews and approves at each step that needs judgment. For the carrier underwriting side, see standalone underwriting AI vs. I built into the workbench.

What changes for a brokerage

The practical effect shows up in two places. First, the same team can take more accounts to market, because the hours that went into re-entering data and assembling proposals come back. Second, every client meeting starts with a recommendation instead of a stack of PDFs, which is a better conversation for the client and for the broker running it.
